About Us.
Eastern Panhandle Indivisible is a grassroots, people-powered organization founded by Susan Pipes and Sara Thomsen. We believe real change starts at the community level, with people coming together to support one another, speak out, and take action.
Sara and Susan have worked side by side for over a decade, organizing, advocating, and building community across the region. They previously served as chapter leaders for the Eastern Panhandle Women’s March, with Susan also serving as an officer for the West Virginia Women’s March. Together, they also co-founded Indivisible Jefferson County, continuing their commitment to local, community-driven organizing.
As our work has grown, so has our team. Regan Parker joined Eastern Panhandle Indivisible as our Voter Outreach Coordinator, helping make sure every neighbor in our community has the information and support they need to make their voice heard at the polls.
Our work is rooted in the belief that policy decisions have real, everyday consequences. That’s why we stay actively engaged in the political process while also focusing on something just as important: community care. Supporting our neighbors, strengthening local connections, and fostering a sense of belonging are not separate from our work. They are essential to it.
We believe lasting progress comes from people working together with purpose, respect, and care for one another.
Our Commitment to Nonviolence
A core principle behind all of our events and actions is a commitment to nonviolence.
We expect all participants to help create a safe and respectful environment by de-escalating conflict whenever possible, even when engaging with those who may strongly disagree with our values. This approach allows us to stay focused on meaningful, people-centered change while protecting the integrity of our community.
